New T-Shirts for Domestic Violence Awareness Month
I LOVE the message on this T-Shirt! "You Just Can't Beat an Arkansas Woman!" Of course, you can't beat a Texas woman, a Wyoming woman..... you just can't beat ANY woman!I'm strongly attached or rather involved with Margie's Haven House in Heber Springs, Ar. It is a shelter for battered women due to domestic violence. Many don't know, but this month is "Domestic Violence Awareness" month. This year, for awareness and a fund-raiser, we are selling these T-Shirts. It is our goal to see this T-Shirt often and proudly worn! If you are interested, just go to MargiesHavenHouse.org to order this terrific t-shirt.

Butterflies and Lantana

I'm not a gardener. I love flowers and plants to look at and to have...but I do not enjoy digging in dirt. I wish I did. We have a tiny front yard - on purpose. Since it is small we can't have to0 many plants to care for. When I went shopping for plants I wanted Lantana, as I was very successful with it in Huffman. I planted it one time and it grew larger and better every year. Every time I asked about planting Lantana I was told it would not do well here, in Arkansas. Ha! My lantana are taking over! I have one 2 year old plant that has reached 5 feet TALL and no telling how wide it is crawling. It is paradise for hummingbirds and butterflies. So fragrant too!

Hurricane Ike ~ Yikes
I'm not scared of flooding anymore....that's all I could think - or want to think when the news of Hurricane Ike was heading for the Galveston - Houston area. But my kids are still there! I was so grateful when they called to tell me they were heading to Austin. Praise the Lord! I was not scared for them anymore...or for myself. If they lost things in the storm...that would be all to be lost. Things are replaceable, but my kids are not. The "short but eventful life of Ike" in pictures...really good!

Cake Bites

I couldn't resist these little treats! These aren't candy - they are bite size balls of cake dipped in chocolate! I experimented for Carl's poker group....they must have been good - none were left! This isn't my idea, darn...I got it from here.
